Due to Hurricane Sandy, my friend, Katie was displaced from her home in SoHo and stayed at my house for the week.  She was so nice to show me how to make her amazing salted fudge brownies.  They are so good!  You just can’t have one which has contributed to the Sandy 15.  I apologize for the technical difficulties during this FWB.  Not sure what’s going on but this is definitely a learning process.  Thank you Katie for your patience with my lack of baking skills.  You’re the best:)

This week has proven that I am so grateful for everything I have in life.  It has also shown that it’s the little things that can make a huge difference in other people’s lives whether it’s providing a warm place to sleep or donating blood which I will be doing on Thursday.  Enjoy this Friendships With Benefits and please donate to help Sandy victims recover as quickly as possible.  You can donate to the Mayor’s Fund  or the Red Cross.  Anything helps.   Thank you.  In the end, we are all friends who can provide some benefits no matter how small.

Flash Mob.  Probably one of my new favorite past times.  My very talented friend, Stephanie Carino, is a pro at choreographing and executing a perfect flash mob.  In this FWB, she teaches me and the rest of the ladies of LSA: NYC dance moves for our latest flash mob to surprise the guys at the ECAs.  And yes, I am a bit toasty in this video and the day long hangover was totally worth it.  Thanks Carino for introducing me to flash mobs as well as always bringing your positive energy.  I had the best time!  ps-The sweatband was the party favor for the evening and had to be worn.

Liz is on of my oldest and dearest friends.  She is basically the reason why I have lived in Brooklyn for the last two and a half years.  In this FWB, Liz teaches me how she makes her beloved BoardSnacks.  She has always been a whiz in the kitchen and knows how to put together such a good spread that I convinced her to start a blog to share her goodness with the world.  Check her out at BoardSnacks.com.  Thanks Lizzy for showing me your awesome skills and saying yes to being on FWB.  I really appreciate it and heart you big time!  xo

Today my friend and roommate, Steve, shows me how to make your own soda water with your own soda water making machine.  Steve is a Do It Yourself kind of guy and this FWB proves that.  Thanks Steve for showing me something that I would NEVER be able to do own my own and showing me that it can be done!  Good luck in your new house!  You’re going to missed.

Ah, Twitter.  I’ve tried to learn how to use this powerful social media tool since 2008 but could never really understand how to use it and the benefits.  Well, this has all changed thanks to my handsome and tech savvy friend, Jeremy Phillips aka @JeremyJJP.  Check out this FWB to learn why Twitter is really important and how to actually use it.  You can check out Jeremy’s life and all the cool things he’s involved in here.  Thanks JP for your amazing lesson and for being you;)

Here is a secret game that not many know about.  It is basically only played in the fields of New Hampshire, PA, and Maine during the warm summer months by young children and awkward teenagers alike in a place known as summer camp.  This game is called GAGA and to my knowledge has nothing to do with Lady Gaga. Watch as my friend and seasoned camp veteran, Layna Germino, teaches you this epic “sport.”  I met Layna a year ago when she joined Livingsocial Adventures.  We both share a deep love for all things summer camp and I was so excited when we realized that she could teach me GAGA at Livingsocial’s SummerCamp for adults this past Labor Day Weekend since sadly, my camp did not have a GAGA pit.  Thanks Layna for helping me constantly relive the goodness of summer camp. xo

Shalom!  Today, my friend, Mai, teaches me common hebrew phrases.  Mai and I met in the winter of 2012 when she joined the Livingsocial Adventure team in NYC.  Mai was born in Israel and moved to the states at the age of 13.  She has such an amazing story and a great zest for life!  Toda Mai for being my favorite Hebrew school teacher!  Shalom!

Lisa, a good friend and coworker, offered to teach me how to make a terrarium.  Lisa and I met in winter of 2011 when we both started a new job working with developmentally delayed toddlers.  Not only is Lisa an OT, she is also a brilliantly hilarious comedian.  She performs regularly in NYC and I try to get to every show I can.  Unfortunately, Lisa was not available to teach me on the day we decided, but worry not, her roommate, Linda, offered her time.  Watch as I learn how to make a terrarium from Linda who is definitely one of a kind!

My friend, Jordan, teaches me how to juggle in Madison Square Park.  Although we had some interruptions including the park ranger telling us to move off the grass and a curious one year old, Jordan was an awesome teacher and I think I have real potential in a future career as a juggling clown.  Thanks again, Juggling Master!
